Earth Tones Thanks Card

A few weeks ago I showed a card using the Butterfly Beauty dies in Terracotta Tile and So Saffron. Go here to see the first card and here for the second using the single die cut. I still had a couple of the die cut butterflies leftover and decided to put them to use. It was quick and simple to make since I was basically using up scraps I had leftover from other projects.

The colors used in today's card are Early Espresso, Terracotta Tile and So Saffron.

I used the following cuts of cardstock:

  • Early Espresso (card base): 8½” x 5½”, scored at 4¼”

  • Whisper White: 5½” x ¾"

  • Gold foil: 1¼" x 1¾"

  • Whisper White (sentiment): 1½" x 1"

I also used the following stamps and die cuts from the matching sets:

  • Butterfly Beauty stacked dies in Terracotta Tile (base) and So Saffron (top) - these were the leftovers from the cards mentioned

  • "Thanks" sentiment stamp from the Beauty Abounds stamp set

  • Scattered stamp from the Beauty Abounds stamp set

Directions:

  1. Cut your Early Espresso cardstock to 8½” x 5½" and score at 4¼” to create your card base

  2. Fold the crease for the card base and use your bone folder to make it nice and crisp

  3. Cut a strip of Whisper White cardstock to 5½” x ¾" (I was able to use scraps)

  4. Cut a piece of Gold foil cardstock to 1¼" x 1¾" (scraps!)

  5. Cut a piece of Whisper White cardstock to 1½" x 1"

  6. Insert the front of your card base into the Pinewood Planks 3D embossing folder and run through your Big Shot (or equivalent)

  7. Stamp your "thanks" sentiment in Early Espresso ink onto the center of your cut 1½" x 1" Whisper White cardstock

  8. Stamp your scatter stamp in Early Espresso ink, stamp off, then stamp over your "thanks" sentiment

  9. Apply Stampin' Seal onto the back of the 5½” x ¾" piece of Whisper White cardstock and apply to your Early Espresso card base approximately ⅞" from the bottom

  10. Apply Stampin' Seal onto the back of your sentiment and adhere, centered, onto your 1¼" x 1¾" Gold foil cardstock

  11. Apply 2-4 Stampin' Dimensionals on the back of your Gold foil and adhere, centered over your Whisper White strip, approximately ⅜" from the right side

  12. Using the pre-cut butterflies from your stash, adhere to your card base using glue dots
