Encouragement with the Tasteful Touches Bundle from Stampin' Up!
Today's card was fairly simple although it looks slightly complicated. I really like how this one turned out and I love how the designer series paper really helped make this card. Let's dive in!
The colors I chose for the card are feminine and coordinated beautifully with the In Good Taste designer series paper I used on the base. The colors are Rococo Rose, Merry Merlot and Just Jade with a hint of Bumblebee for the flower center.
I used the following cuts of cardstock:
Rococo Rose (card base): 8½” x 5½”, scored at 4¼”
Designer Series Paper: 5⅜" x 4⅛"
Whisper White (for sentiment): 2¼" x 1¾"
Whisper White (for flower): 2¼" x 2"
Whisper White (for feathers): 2½" x 1¼" (x2)
I also used the following stamps and die cuts from the matching sets:
"You Are So Special" sentiment from the Tasteful Touches stamp set
Flower stamp from the Tasteful Touches stamp set
Feather stamp from the Tasteful Touches stamp set
Leaf sprig stamp from the Tasteful Touches stamp set
Label die from the Tasteful Labels die set: 2⅛" x 1½" (it is just a hair larger than 1½")
Start by using your paper trimmer to cut your Rococo Rose cardstock to your base at 8½” x 5½” then score at 4¼”
Use your bone folder to crease your scoreline so you have a nice crisp fold for your card
Search your scrap pile of Whisper White cardstock for appropriate sized pieces for your stamped flower, feathers and sentiment
Stamp the flower image in Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto a piece of Whisper White
Stamp 2 feathers in Merry Merlot ink onto Whisper White cardstock
Stamp the "You Are So Special" sentiment onto Whisper White
Stamp the leaf sprig 2-3 times in Just Jade ink in the top left corner of the designer series paper
Use your Big Shot or equivalent to die cut your sentiment using the 2⅛" x 1½" (it is just a hair larger than 1½") labels die
Get out your Rococo Rose Stampin' Blends markers and color in the stamped flower image (I used a Bumblebee Stampin' Write marker for the flower center)
Fussy cut out your flower and the two feathers
Cut off a piece of the Whisper White ribbon from the Flowers for Every Season ribbon combo pack, approximately 5" in length
Color the ribbon with your Rococo Rose Stampin' Blends markers, I used the Light Rococo Rose marker but you could use either
Use Stampin' Seal to adhere the ribbon to the designer series paper, approximately 1½" from the top
Apply Stampin' Seal to the back of the designer series paper and adhere it to your Rococo Rose card base
Apply a handful of Stampin' Dimensionals to the back of your sentiment die cut label and adhere to your card base, vertically centered over the ribbon on the far left of your card
Apply some multipurpose glue or mini glue dots to your fussy cut feathers and adhere down just at the bottom right corner of your sentiment label
Apply a Stampin' Dimensionals to the center of your fussy cut flower and adhere it down over the stem of your feathers and slightly overlapping the bottom right part of the label for your sentiment
As a finishing touch, take 3 of the large Frosted Epoxy Droplets and place them on your colored ribbon as shown in the image
I hope you enjoyed today's simple card!
