Petal Pink Wedding Day Handmade Card
A friend of mine is getting married in a few weeks and I wanted to make a card that matched her wedding colors - especially since I, like so many others, will be attending virtually instead of in person. I wanted the card to feel a little more personal.
Petal Pink is the perfect match to her color so I created a card in Petal Pink, Basic Black and a hint of Silver (foil).
I used the following cuts of cardstock:
Petal Pink (card base): 8½” x 5½”, scored at 4¼”
Basic Black (sentiment strip): 4¼” x ½”
Vellum (sentiment strip base): 4¼” x ¾"
I also used the following stamps and die cuts from the matching sets:
Forever Blossoms stamp set: "Cherish every moment of this day"
Forever Blossoms stamp set: large cherry blossom branch
Cherry Blossom dies: matching large cherry blossom branch die to cut out the large stamped cherry blossom branch
Cherry Blossom dies: large sprig dies (cut out in silver foil as decorative accents)
Cut your Petal Pink cardstock for your card base at 8½” x 5½” and then score at 4¼” - I used my paper trimmer and Simply Scored scoreboard
Cut your Basic Black sentiment strip to 4¼” x ½” - I used some scraps that I had on hand
Cut your vellum sentiment strip base to 4¼” x ¾" - I also used some scraps that I had on hand for this
Place the Petal Pink card base into the Brick & Mortar 3D embossing folder and run through your Big Shot (or equivalent)
Ink up the large cherry blossoms stamp in Versamark ink and stamp onto Basic Black cardstock
Cover the stamped image in White Stampin' Emboss Powder and heat set using your heat tool
Ink up the "Cherish every moment of this day" sentiment in Versamark ink and stamp onto your Basic Black sentiment strip, centered
Cover the stamped sentiment in White Stampin' Emboss Powder and heat set using your heat tool
Using the matching die for the large cherry blossom embossed image, die cut it out with your Big Shot (or equivalent)
Take the sprig die from the Cherry Blossoms die set and die cut one out using silver foil
Cut the sprig in half using your paper snips
Layer the sprig so they will be just under where we will place the cherry blossom embossed die cut image and adhere with the fine tip glue pen (see image)
Using your fine tip glue pen, adhere the embossed cherry blossom branch over the sprigs, towards the left side of the card, approximately ½” from the left and ½” from the top of the card base
Using Stampin' Seal, adhere the Basic Black sentiment strip centered on the vellum base
Using Black Stampin' Dimensionals, place the sentiment strip over the bottom of the cherry blossom embossed image, leaving about ¼” of the stem showing
Cut approximately 4" of the Whisper White ¼” Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon and tie it in a bow
Adhere the bow to the ¼” stem showing below the sentiment using a mini glue dot
Add two rhinestones to either side of the sentiment to help frame it and then add a few more around the embossed cherry blossom die cut
As a finishing touch, use the Wink of Stella pen to add a bit of sparkle to each of the cherry blossoms
