Poinsettia Petals with Banner Year - Be Merry!
I think I'm changing my favorite In Color 2020-2022 to Just Jade. Such a pretty green! Today's card is fairly simple (it's a trend with me I know!) It only took about 5 minutes to make. It could be CASEd for just about any occasion (CASEd = Copy and Share Everything!)
My Stampin' Up! Color Fusion for today is Just Jade, Real Red and Whisper White. Just Jade and Real Red make the best holiday colors - just my opinion - at least for now!
I used the following cuts of cardstock:
Just Jade: 8½" x 4¼", scored at 4¼" (this makes a 4¼" x 4¼" card base)
Real Red: 3¾" x ¾"
Vellum: 4¼" x 1½"
I also used the following stamps and/or dies:
Poinsettia Place stamp set: large poinsettia detailed stamp
Poinsettia Place stamp set: medium leaf stamp
Poinsettia Place stamp set: berry sprig stamp
Triple Banner Punch
Banner Pick a Punch
Cut a piece of Just Jade cardstock to 8½" x 4¼" and score at 4¼"
Use your bone folder to get a nice crisp fold in your card base
Cut a piece of Real Red cardstock to 3¾" x ¾"
Cut a piece of Vellum to 4¼" x 1½"
Stamp the “be merry” sentiment from the Banner Year stamp set in Versamark ink on your 3¾" x ¾" piece of Real Red cardstock
Stamp your large poinsettia stamp from the Poinsettia Petals stamp set in Versamark ink on your Just Jade card base
Using the smaller leaf from the Poinsettia Petals stamp set, stamp in Versamark ink 3-4 times around your poinsettia image
Using the berry sprigs stamp from the Poinsettia Petals stamp set, stamp in Versamark ink 3-4 times around your other Versamark ink stamped images
Cover all of your Versamark stamped images and your sentiment in White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat set using your heat tool
Using your Real Red light Stampin Blends, color in the berries on your embossed images (you could use your Stampin' Write markers for this as well!)
Using your light and dark Just Jade Stampin’ Blends, color in the leaves and poinsettia (feel free to use a red color for the poinsettia - again, you can use your Stampin' Write markers as well)
Cut a 4¾" strip of the Metallic Mesh ribbon and use your paper snips to cut each end to make tails (see image for details)
Cut a 4¾" strip of the Real Red sheer ribbon and use your paper snips to cut each end to make tails (see image for details)
Using your fine tip glue pen, apply a small amount, centered, just under where your sentiment would be placed (I find that the glue from the fine tip glue pen doesn’t show through as much on Vellum) and adhere your Vellum cardstock horizontally over your card base
Apply a small amount of your fine tip glue pen on top of your Vellum in the middle of your card and adhere down the Metallic Mesh ribbon
Using your fine tip glue pen, apply a small amount of glue on top of your Metallic Mesh ribbon to adhere your strip of Real Red sheer ribbon
Apply 2-3 Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of your Real Red sentiment strip and adhere down, angled, over your ribbons (see image for further details)
