Prized Peony - Love & Thanks to a Dear Friend

I love the card I am showing you today. The colors are so fun and I just love the large peony stamp from the Prized Peony stamp set - I've made at least 50 cards with it since I got it!

My Stampin' Up! Color Fusion for today is Basic Black, Bermuda Bay and Melon Mambo.

I used the following cuts of cardstock:

  • Whisper White: 8½" x 5½", scored at 4¼"

  • Basic Black:

  • Bermuda Bay designer series paper (print):

I also used the following stamps and/or dies:

  • Prized Peony stamp set: large peony stamp

  • Prized Peony stamp set: “love & thanks to a dear friend”

  • Banner pick a punch

Directions:

  1. Trim a piece of Whisper White cardstock to 8½" x 5½" and score at 4¼"

  2. Trim a piece of Basic Black cardstock to ¾" x 5½"

  3. Trim a piece of the Bermuda Bay print designer series paper to 5½" x 1”

  4. Stamp the large peony stamp from the Prized Peony stamp set in Melon Mambo ink on Whisper White cardstock

  5. Using the matching die from the Peony die set, die cut out your Melon Mambo stamped peony flower

  6. Stamp the “love and thanks to a dear friend” sentiment from the Prized Peony stamp set in Versamark ink, centered, on your cut piece of Basic Black cardstock

  7. Cover your sentiment with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat set with your heat tool

  8. Color one of the Square Vellum Doilies from the Peony Garden suite with your Bermuda Bay Stampin’ Blends marker (light or dark works)

  9. Cut your colored doily in half

  10. With the covers on your Melon Mambo and Bermuda Bay ink pads closed, press down before opening to apply a small amount of ink on the inside cover; then, using your water painters, lightly splatter some of the Melon Mambo and Bermuda Bay ink onto your Whisper White card front

  11. Apply a small amount of your fine tip glue pen to the back of your vellum doily pieces and adhere down, centered vertically, on the left and right sides of your Whisper White card base

  12. Apply Stampin’ Seal to the back of your Bermuda Bay print designer series paper and adhere it down, centered, over your card base

  13. Use your Banner pick a punch to punch both sides of your Basic Black sentiment strip

  14. Apply regular and mini Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of your diecut Melon Mambo peony and adhere it down, centered, on your Whisper White card base (see image for further details)

  15. Apply Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back left and right side of your Basic Black sentiment strip and adhere down, centered, over your peony

  16. To finish off the card, apply 3-4 basic rhinestones around your peony to help accent your flower
