Whale of a Time Suite - My Love For You Is Bigger Than The Ocean
I just love the coordinating Whale of a Time Suite collection from Stampin' Up! Not only is it super cute but it can be so diverse. The sentiment "My Love For You Is Bigger Than The Ocean" can be used in many ways and the coordinating designer series paper has some simple patterns that can be utilized for a number of cards as well as the super fun paper that is just too cute not to want to use!
The colors that I chose today were simplistic and used to coordinate with the Pretty Peacock designer series paper from the suite.
I used the following cuts of cardstock:
Pretty Peacock (card base): 11” x 4¼”, scored at 5½”
Whisper White: 5½" x 3¼"
Designer Series Paper: 5½" x 3"
I also used the following stamps and die cuts from the matching sets:
"My Love For You Is Bigger Than The Ocean" sentiment stamp from the Whale Done stamp set
Coral stamp from the Whale Done stamp set
2⅜" x 2" label die from the Tasteful Labels die set, 1 each in Whisper white (for sentiment) and Pool Party
Directions:
Trim your Pretty Peacock cardstock to 11” x 4¼” and score at 5½”
Make sure to crease your fold with your bone folder
Trim a piece of Whisper White cardstock to 5½" x 3¼"
Trim the designer series paper to 5½" x 3" (see image for the paper I used)
Using the 2⅜" x 2" label die from the Tasteful Labels die set, cut out 1 each in Whisper White and Pool Party (remember to check your scraps!)
Apply Stampin' Seal to the back of your designer series paper and adhere down, centered, over your Whisper White
Cut a strip of the Pool Party 3/8" (1 Cm) Sheer Ribbon to approximately 6½"
On the back of your Whisper White cardstock, apply a small amount of Stampin' Seal, centered vertically, on the edge of the cardstock and use it to hold down either end of your Pool Party sheer ribbon
Apply Stampin' Seal to the rest of the back of your Whisper White cardstock and adhere down, centered, on your Pretty Peacock card base
Using Memento Tuxedo Black ink, stamp your sentiment "My Love For You Is Bigger Than The Ocean" onto the center of your Whisper White die cut label
Get out your Pool Party ink pad and lightly stamp the coral image a couple of times below the sentiment to help highlight it little
Cut the Pool Party die cut label in half
Place Stampin' Seal on the back of your Whisper White sentiment label and adhere the two halves of your Pool Party label so that the edges of the Pool Party show to the left and right of your sentiment label by approximately 3mm
Apply 4-5 Stampin' Dimensionals to the back of your sentiment label and adhere down in the center of your card
To add that extra little something, fish out a few of the sequins in a couple sizes and adhere to your card using your fine tip glue pen
I like that the card turned out with a slightly masculine look and is quick and simple to make. Happy crafting!
